Dr. Leaming's ministry began in 1975 and has been focused exclusively in Christian Education. He began his ministry as a secondary math teacher. Dr. Leaming has held the positions of Math and Science Department Chair, Academic Dean, Elementary Principal, Secondary Principal and Head of School, and Superintendent.
Dr. Leaming served at Dade Christian School in Miami, Florida for 22 years. He was also the headmaster at Cypress Community Christian School in Houston, Texas, secondary principal at North Cobb Christian School in Kennesaw, Georgia (northwest metro Atlanta), and superintendent at Christian School of York in York, Pennsylvania. Dr. Leaming currently serves as the superintendent at Lawton Christian School in Lawton-Ft. Sill, Oklahoma.
Dr. Leaming's educational background is extensive. He holds a doctorate degree in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Dr. Leaming's Master’s Degree in Educational Administration was earned at Pensacola Christian College. His Bachelor’s Degree in Humanities was also earned at Pensacola Christian College (with extensive work done at Bob Jones University). He is a graduate of The MASTER Teacher Academy.
Dr. Leaming has attained State of Florida Administrative and Teaching Certification, Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) Superintendent’s Certification and Association of Christian Teachers & Schools (ACTS) Superintendent’s Certification.
Dr. Leaming has affiliations with the Association of Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD), International Fellowship of Christian School Administrators (IFCSA), and Phi Gamma Sigma (an international professional society for doctoral graduates of Nova Southeastern University). He is also a Five Gallon Blood Donor with the American Red Cross and donates regularly.
Dr. Leaming was recognized as Dade Christian School Secondary Teacher of the Year as well as runner-up on the state level in the Florida Association of Christian Colleges and Schools (FACCS). The MASTER Teacher publishes a program entitled "The Principal's Pal," which Dr. Leaming developed when he was an elementary principal. He is also a member of The MASTER Teacher’s writers’ cadre. In addition, he received the Distinguished Educators Award from the Georgia Independent School Association (GISA).
Dr. Leaming has been a presenter at conferences for the Florida Association of Christian Colleges and Schools (FACCS), Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) and Mid-Atlantic Christian Schools Association (MACSA).
Dr. Leaming has been married to his high school sweetheart, Carol, for 30+ years. She is also a Christian school educator. Their son, Joshua, attended Christian school preschool through high school. The Leamings are currently helping their son (who is a single dad) raise his two small boys who happen to be the delight of their grandparents.
Dr. Leaming’s hobbies include digital photography and gardening as well as extensive reading of the Scriptures, Christian authors and leadership books.
